Our Story

My DH and I have been married for 8 years now and TTC for over 4. We, like many other couples, waited several years into our TTC journey before we seriously pursued medical help. It was bound to happen sooner or later! (We thought).

Early in 2010, when it didn't just happen, we asked my doctor for a referral to an RE. We were given three names but realized that we were at the right place after the appointment with the first one. After a few more tests, he confirmed what we were thinking, IVF was our only option to achieve pregnancy. That was hard to swallow at first, but after waiting for so long we knew that we had to move forward.

In November 2010, we started our IVF cycle. Things went very smoothly and they were able to retrieve and fertilize 7 eggs. We transferred two back on December 19 and had our 2ww through the Holidays! As crazy as it was, it was the scariest but most exciting time. On January 3rd we got our positive pregnancy test!!

Everything we did now revolved around this little baby! For the first time in a long time it was exciting to go to Babies-R-Us. We shopped for furniture, car seats, strollers, etc. all within the first few weeks. Pregnancy books and magazines were all over the house and I downloaded apps for my phone. Life was good!

Sadly on February 22, just shy of 12 weeks, I began to miscarry. It was the hardest thing that we've ever been through, but that baby has become our angel. If we had a girl, we were planning to use "Hope" as the middle name as that is one word that we've hung on to the last four years. A month after the miscarriage, my best friend and I got matching tattoos that say "Hope" with a small pink heart next to it. Just seeing that word gets me through some days.

We will be pursuing IVF again in 2012 while hoping and praying for our child. We're still figuring all of this out, and trying to make one decision at a time. Wondering how much we share with people, who should know what...

We have two 4-legged babies that are spoiled rotten. Shelby, who is almost 8, and Dozer who is 7 months old. Both are lab mixes. We are active in our church and enjoying spending time with friends and family. A perfect weekend for us is a weekend on the lake or camping. I'm a sports fan and DH is a little bit of a motorhead. He can fix just about anything! I love Reds baseball and co-ed softball in the summer. I enjoy working out too, it's a great stress reliever!

That's about all of our story that I know so far, I'll be updating this page as exciting new things happen!

  1. I got your message on my blog... I wish you the best with your upcoming cycle. We had our 2nd beta today and it didn't double like it should... so not sure if this will be viable or if we'll miscarry... not putting all that on my blog yet though, so don't leave any direct comments about it.

I have extra Bravelle if you need any, let me know.
